Rationale Assignment
My written assignment is on subject of causes of drugs on youth in school’s area, because if we know the reasons, we can more easily help them and fight against that. My sources are internet articles related to the subject, with the first article discussing the impact of behavior of other people on teenagers like parents and other adults drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes and, sometimes, trying other liquids or substances. The second article demonstrating the biological wired of adolescents to seek new experiences and take risks. And the third article denounces the effects of media with advertising and movies who contain cigarette, alcohol, and prescription drug encourage youth to use drugs.
I intent to remember importance of causes of drugs on youth in schools because we have many meetings on risks of drugs but no more teaching on causes to teenagers to prevent their uses. Hence I will do this writing assignment in the form of an op-ed article, with what I am freer to express my opinion. The op-ed article will be written in simple language in well-designed format with pictures.
What are the causes of drugs on youth?
Drug is a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduce into the body. We know that the impact of drugs on people are important but the effects of drugs on youth people are more interesting so why teens try drugs? The third article that I use say that it’s important that people, as a parent, understand these reasons and talk to your kids about the dangers of drinking and doing drugs. We have many causes but I am stopped on some causes. We have boredom. Teens who can’t tolerate being alone have trouble keeping themselves occupied or crave excitement are prime candidates for substance use. Not only do alcohol and marijuana give them something to do, but those substances help fill the internal void they feel. Further, they provide a common ground for interacting with like-minded teens, a way to instantly bond with a group of kids. Another reasons why teens use drugs is adolescents are “biologically wired” to seek new experiences and take risks, as well as to carve out their own identity.
The brain continues to develop through early adulthood. Mature brain regions at each developmental stage are indicated in blue. The prefrontal cortex (red circles), which governs judgment and self-control, is the last part of the brain to mature. We have also impact of media on teenagers who leads them to use drugs. The power of advertising to influence children and adolescents (and adults, for that matter) is incontrovertible. Advertising works; otherwise, companies would not spend billions of dollars on it. Many advertisings use celebrity endorsers, humor, rock music, or attractive young models, all of which have been shown to be effective with children and adolescents. All this reasons made bad impacts that authorities and governments fight against. We have, studies’ stopped, mental troubles and many other problems.
Possible solutions: now we know causes of drugs on youth. We can use them to speak with children and prevent them about all things who can create like of drug in a particular part of their life. So when they will be face of the characteristics cited before they can have good behavior and easy ability to require help of teacher or parents.
